Hi, my name is Isuru. I'm a senior developer here at Flume.
When I was 11, my parents bought me my first computer, and ever since, I've been passionate about exploring and finding out how things work. I taught myself how to make videos at the age of 16, this got me interested in video formats and how the software works. As I progressed in my knowledge and skills, I learnt visual basics and flash animations as my first entry into software development.
I really enjoyed the simple programs on visual basics and creating small animations on flash. That motivated me to research more and learn how to do basic things with C++ (QT). By using C++ I developed a small guitar code saving program. I followed youtube tutorials on Arduino microchip programming and really enjoyed taking input from different sensors making small output/actions based on them.
Teaching myself all these skills made me realise how much I enjoy software development. This encouraged me to take my software development skills to the next level and study a bachelor of Software Engineering.
I finished my degree in 2015 and started my career as a web developer. Since then, I've been a PHP developer. I still enjoy a lot while coding and even more after I see the completed outcome.
A little bit about where I am from:
I was born in Sri Lanka, one of the beautiful islands in the Indian Ocean.
I really enjoyed my childhood. There was so much adventure and exploring. The pictures below are just an example of all the fun we had growing up.
My house was located next to a paddy field and we had a lake within walking distance. We used to play with all the kids around the neighbourhood all the time.
Thank you for reading a bit about me, I hope you found it interesting!
